Happy Thanksgiving!

"What are you thankful for?"  It's always a question we're asked around Thanksgiving.  Of course our answers vary, but go along the same lines as Jesus, family, a home, food...the list goes on and on.  When I started thinking about my answers, I wondered why society only thinks about this once a year.  Shouldn't we be giving thanks every single minute and second of each day?  It is always my goal to say thank you, not only to those around me, but to God for the blessings I receive daily...but I fail!  I get too caught up in all the things I need to do.  I get selfish and sulk about the situations I have to deal with that I don't want to deal with.  Or, my sense of entitlement gets in the way.  It's that darn sin!  It is always getting in the way of the things we are supposed to be doing, not just once a year, but every single minute and second of each day!  So, my biggest thanks goes to God for sending Jesus to take that sin away, so we can strive to be more like Him!  Thanks be to God for our blessings!  No matter what we're going through there is always something to be thankful for!  May you find it not only today, but every day!
Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours.  It is such a blessing for me to be teaching your child(ren)!  I love them dearly!

God used Josiah...and still does today

I don't know about you, but the beginning of the school year can be a challenge!  Along with being a teacher, I am a mom to 3 kids.  It has been a HUGE challenge for me to make sure all three kids are ready for school, lunches packed, and homework done, not to mention the extra-curricular activities!  Whew!  Oh yeah, and that darn laundry!  Ugghh!  You all know what I am talking about!
I've found so much joy in being back in the classroom.  This past week our class talked about the story of Josiah, how he was king at 8 years old, and by around 26, commanded that the temple be repaired.  Upon repairing the temple, the neglected Book of God was found.  It was read to Josiah and he tore his clothes in sorrow over the sin he had committed.  He became humble and repented of those sins and became totally devoted to God.  So, through it all, Josiah had faith and followed God.  That's really what it comes down to...following God THROUGH IT ALL...the start of the school year, the stressful nights of homework, the joys in watching our children play sports, oh yeah, and that darn laundry!  Without God, none of it is possible!  No matter what we are going through, HIS WORD is our tool in helping us get through it!  I am so blessed to be teaching your child!  I know I keep saying it, but it's so very true!  I'm blessed to be able to share the Word of God with them.  Don't let the Bible sit on your shelf being neglected.  Share it with someone who needs it!
Here's the fun VIDEO I shared with your children about Josiah this past week.

A great big THANK YOU to all the families who participated in handing out freezer pops at the 4th of July parade.  Did you hear all of the thank yous and cheers as we walked by?  What a great relief freezer pops were for people who were sitting out in this heat!  Our current 4/5 grade class was represented by Delani, Jordan, Maddy, and Sam!  Thank you to those students and their families for taking the time to represent St. Paul Lutheran Church and School!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
